Need photo of a mob or a riot

Please help me find a picture of a mob, crowd or a riot. Color or B&W both OK, need high-resolution. Individual people won't be recognizable (I will make the photo blurry). Need it for the background of this poster:

Ideally, I'd like to re-shoot this with an over the shoulder high angle view of a family caught in the open by a mob...

You might try the Archives of the London Times web site.Remember all the crowd scenes and riots over the poll taxex back in the mid 80"s.

I don't think I can help you with the riot shot, but I do have an idea I'd like to throw your way.

Bear with me a moment.

Yesterday, I ran across something on a Virginia gun site that got me thinking. As you know, one of the ways that the anti-gun crowd has been able to be effective in the past is through the use of language - you know, the "assault weapon" thing. Here's a way to beat them at their own game.

We should change all references to "assault rifles" or "assault weapons" to "HOMELAND DEFENSE RIFLE".

It wasn't my idea, but I like it. With the government telling us that there's a terrorist around every corner and under every rock, who can argue with a "homeland defense" rifle? And those "hi-cap" magazines - they're just "reserve ammunition holders". ;)

That idea 's been kicked around several times on several of the boards that I surf. The "problem" with it is that you will NEVER get the effing left-wing-liberal-gun-hating press to call them anything except what the brady bunch tells 'em to call them. Just like why if their are right-wing republicans/conservatives, why aren't there left-wing Democrats/liberals? But It would be neat to co-0pt a couple of the brady ads and just change the words to HDR and RAH...:evil: :D
 
Oleg, do a search on the net for "The Greek Picnic" that went on in Philadelphia in the 1990's. Women were publicly raped, families were stoned and attacked on streets and parks while the news media and police departments were too afraid to confront the problem (because it was racial). There was tons of footage helicopter footage of sexual assaults that were later used to prosecute the BGs.

On 9/7/94 My family was attacked by a mob of drunk drugged up college aged rioters that came out of there houses to stone the car we were driving in. All because we made a wrong turn coming back from a Billy Joel and Elton John concert.

The people that attacked us live 4 miles from my house. Its my justification for having 15rd mags in a Beretta and a 30rd mag for an AR. Sometimes the lights do go out and the worst of society comes out.
 
We had better recapture the language of the debate or we will lose in the end. Assault weapon is a fictitious term dreamed up by the antis to demonize ordinary guns, and it has been adopted by all the major press.

How about:

Defense rifle
Security rifle
Military rifle

I would say tactical rifle too, but that would set some people off on this board.
 
I know this is a little off topic but its killing me! :)

You gotta get an MP40 sling for that thing Oleg, and put that sling collar on the right side where it belongs! And I sure hope Runt has that bolt handle in the safety slot as those babys are a little light in the trigger. :)

I don't have a picture for you, but I like the idea of searching for an English soccer mob. For god's sake make sure it's a white mob.
 
I think you should bite the bullet and pay for a photograph this time. Internet and public domain photos are find for some things, but with something as specific as this you need a professional. And yes I agree, definitely get a white mob - we don't want to hear the shrill cries of "oh! racist redneck gun nut! For shame!"

Not trying to hijack Oleg's thread, but the problem isn't that we can't get the media to use our language, the problem is that they get us to use theirs.

How many of you know hunters who own "long range sniper rifles" for shooting deer and varmits, but would NEVER consider owning an "assault rifle"? The Brady bunch has done a good job of "divide and conquer" among gunowners just through selective use of language. Why would a law-abiding, patriotic citizen need a 50cal sniper rifle, an assault rifle, a street sweeper, or a pocket-rocket?

On the other hand, a long range target rifle, a Homeland Defense Rifle, a Home Defensive Shotgun, or a Compact Defensive Pistol would be socially acceptable. :cool:

Personally, unless I am referring to a full auto MP5 (carried by LEOs) or select fire weapons carried by the military, I won't be using the term "assault rifle" anymore.
 
I am waiting to buy the "No one wants to take your hunting rifle, they'll call it a sniper rifle first" T-shirt when you have it!
