leaving to go hunt in 1 hour or so. This weekend is primarily deer - muzzleloader (primitive). But it is also first weekend of fall turkey gun season (any gun in this particular county, shotgun or otherwise). Since I'd rather not put a big ML caliber hole in a turkey breast, and I did see several of them last weekend, I'm going to pack a sidearm for opportunistic shots if no deer are around. But can't decide between these:

1. Taurus raging bull, .454, loaded with SHOTSHELL .45 colt loads (head shot), 4" bbl
2. CZ 75 Compat pistol, 9x19 mm (vitals shot), 3.9" bbl
3. .22 lr revolver (headshot) - this seems no good; too hard of a shot to make
4. I'd be better off just blasting them with the ML rifle, rather than trying to mess with a sidearm.

??

Ranges are likely to be 15-20 yards; 25 yards would be maximum. Would option 1 even be effective at those ranges, or would the shot balls lose too much steam from the .45 loads from a handgun ?

Please pick 1-4, quick! Thanks. :)

Head shot with the ML. Shotshells out of rifled barrels fly in a spiral giving a pattern with huge holes.
