A CCW class in Florida is just gun safety. You listen to a lecture for an hour then fill out paper work/do your fingerprints for an hour and shoot 3 rounds at a range. There's not much instructing going on at all so just go to whichever one is convenient. Bass Pro shops at Dania Beach has a class going every other day.
Why? $50 is really just the fee to help you with paper work. You can go to a "tactical" pistol course if you want, many of them qualify for the CCW requirement, but expect to pay around $1000 for a good one.
