Hopefully this is the right forum for this question.

Next year I am going to take a motorcycle trip from California to Chicago, following the old Route 66. I plan to CCW the entire trip with the exception of Illinois. Is there anyone that can give me a location in Missouri that I might be able to store my pistol while I'm in Illinois??

Hey Jerry you are more than welcome to store at my place but it may be out of your way. Go to missouricarry.com and post your question and I am sure someone close to the communist border will take care of it for you, Good luck and if near Camdenton MO. you are welcome here for the night or what ever.

The only thing I'd worry about would be if it would be considered a "transfer." That isn't something I would want to flirt with, although I'd be happy to look after it for you (I live in the STL area, just a few miles off of I-70). You may need to contact a FFL around here about that; I'd personally recommend www.ontargetstl.com for that- they're friendly guys.

    I'm in Wentzville, at I-70 and I-64.

Idea tho... Why not just stick it in a small locking case, unloaded. Since you're traveling, you should be good, right?

Thanks to all of you! I will contact one of you in the near future and arrange for the storage. I am looking at April/May of '09.

Bogie: I DID consider your idea, but I don't want to get anywhere near Chi town with my gun, if you know what I mean. Calif plates on a motorcycle.....

"What'cha got in the saddle bags, son??..."

    ...."uhhh....nothing, officer...."

Take it to a pawn shop and take out a $10 loan on it. Then pick it up on the way back.

If you're rolling through St. Louis during business hours, my office is not too far out of your way. I could put it in my safe for you.
