I have an old sw 916A. Firing pin broke, cant find them in stock anywhere.

Anyone have one with an undamaged FP they wouldnt mind pulling out and miking/diagraming for me so I can get one turned?

Do you still have both pieces of the broken firing pin??

That should be enough for a decent gunsmith to measure for a pattern to make a new one.

If you have a 916 that works you're lucky.

Chances are it won't be the last problem you'll have with it.

Mine has been eating any shell I stuff in it since 1975 with out a single hiccup has put a lot of food on the table . In 1981 alone it and a 3 legged fox hound named Charlie accounted for 46 foxes so it doesn't owe me anything. Admittedly it hasn't saw a lot of rounds since the 90's but from 75 thru 90 it was my go to gun when I needed a shotgun

You're lucky. They seem to be lemons that sometimes work properly.

Mine was a POJ.

Rz, you must really hate those things or think we are all too ignorant to understand your comments. There isn't any need to repeat them a 3rd time, not only is your comments irrelevant to the question asked, we understood it the first time you typed it.

Once I was taking apart my 30-30 and a little piece popped on and bounced on my dad's cluttered basement floor. Took me 45 min to find the part. Though it was a relatively common part it would have taken a while to get a new part. I shudder to think how long a rarer part can take. I don't blame you for getting several of them. I use my Mossberg 500 and Marlin 30-30 a lot. I have bought a fair number of spare parts just in case. I would hate to have a fun outing ruined all for want of a horse shoe nail.

If you have both pieces, you can stick them together with super glue, epoxy or something else, then get your measurements and have one turned.
