Need some info-------------

A friend of my daughter has a Stevens Mod 311 in 16ga. It has scapes and a few gouges on the stock. The corners where the wood meets the reciever are also cracked and broken. The steel has some surface rust on most of the metal. Bore appears to ok. What would be a fair price for this shotgun? I am not a collector and the gun will be shot. I want to buy it at a fair price for me and the owner. Your thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks

Ehhh. With the rust I wouldn't pay more than $200.

In good but used condition they go for $300-$400.

If I knew it was structurally sound, I might go as high as $200 on it. Sounds like it's pretty rough, but 16's are abit harder to find than 12's and 20's and a 16 SXS makes a danged good bird gun. The wood is fairly easy to replace, but like everything else, it costs money. If there are no pits, it should clean up pretty well with some work. Gee, I sure miss my girls...
