This, with stag grips.

It sounds to me like the OP is looking for an Ed Brown Custom Classic Engraved:

Ed Brown handguns are works of art without the engraving. Add the engraving and you've got the BBQ gun. You can then put ivories on it if you want.

The Colt below is the closest thing I have to a BBQ gun.

I can carry it in a sharkskin holster trimmed in gator on an elphant skin belt:

I'd go with a high-polished aluminum finish. Saw one of these in .38 Super at a gun store, and I could see myself in it. People tend to "ooh" and "aah" more at shiny things.

Learning as I go...

Shipwreck

Because its a Taurus.

Anyway, without getting into the argument of Taurus as a whole - listing a Taurus as a BBQ is a joke.

So it's a price thing then? What about the RIA's? Aren't they even cheaper?

I thought OC wasn't legal in Texas. Is the BBQ gun thing something people indulge in on private property - say in your own backyard?

One of our shooting ranges here is at a beautiful remote private beach with a tiny hill which makes a great natural backstop. We often barbeque and swim, etc. after we train there. Maybe I will start a BBQ gun thing down here!:)

EDIT: On second thought, once the shooting and combat drills are out of the way, the 'normal' people join us and we git to grillin' and chillin'. Inevitably, people end up not exactly fully dressed much beyond that that point and I don't suppose a fancy tooled leather drop leg rig would coordinate all that well with a pair of swimming trunks. Sometimes, depending on the group dynamics, the girls get comfortable and end up wearing precious little - sometimes nothing at all - maybe we should have them wear the fancy rigs. They'd look a darn sight better on them than on a bunch of half-nekkid dudes!:uhoh:

Its not a price thing - Taurus makes a lot of junk, and the Taurus 1911 is a piece of junk.

I don't want to get into a long drawn out discussion about this, however. As this is the BBQ gun thread, and I don't want to get off topic.

From my understanding open carry is OK on private property with the owner's approval. Usually neighbors are invited and like to show off their pieces too.

Royal blue, whatever you do!

Nothing looks better IMHO.
