Need Value and DOB of S&W Model 10

I'm waiting to be "approved" to post on the S&W forum, so I thought I'd see if you all could help me.

I need the value and age of my grandfather's S&W, Model 10, blue finish, 4" barrel, square butt. This gun is still in the box and has never been used, ie. excellent condition. My grandfather passed away in 1980 but we have no idea how old it is.

Serial number is C860650.

Any info you could give me would be great!
