Hello, I have some questions regarding some work on a 1911.
I want to have a Novak style low mount rear sight installed. The gun has a NM slide, so would need to be machined. In addition I would like to replace the front sight with a dovetailed unit, to match the rear. Wondering what the cost for this would be and who does this kind of work? No Hi Viz sights as I plan to use this in Wild Bunch competition. Just a simple dovetailed front sight with a low mount Combat style rear.
Also would I be able to send just the slide?
Would the slide have to be stripped?
What sort of time frame would we be looking at?
Also on a different matter, who does checkering or stipling of the front strap on a 1911?
