Folks,

I'm looking to purchase a Ruger 45 Colt (Not ACP) Cylinder only, not a whole pistol.

I have a Ruger Vaquero that I hope I can fit one to. The original cylinder was damaged by the previous owner.

Hopefully, someone may have one available at a reasonable price.

Thanks,

The gunshow circuit maybe???

I don't know where to find a Ruger cylinder, if Gunparts and any of a number of online sources don't have one.

Brownells sells, Custom cylinder blanks, you would need someone with the tools and knowledge to create a working cylinder from these, and these seem a little pricey to start with.

However a nice looking non working gun, Oh Gosh NO. Getting it working well, PRICELESS!!!!!!!

IIRC, Ruger does not sell cylinders or make them for separate sale. I would suggest just sending the gun to Ruger and have them fit a new cylinder. Call them first, and they may send a shipping label so the shipping is on them.

They will probably charge you, but it will likely be less than some other alternatives.

I had a similar issue with cylinders on a couple Old Armys. Send it to Ruger and they will fix it up for a reasonable price.

45 Ruger cylinder

Thanks for the suggestions.

I'll write to Ruger and see what they can offer, cost, and down time.

There is a reason Ruger won't sell cylinders. It is because each one has to be fitted to the gun. Sometimes, you can buy a cylinder separate and luck out with everything working perfectly. But sometimes you find the barrel-cylinder gap is off, or the headspace is wrong, and there is no way to correct the problem since the cylinder was fitted to another gun.

Yes, contact Ruger.
