Needed: Info on Rem. Model 81 Buttplates

I was wondering if anyone has ever ordered a replacement buttplate for the Model 81. Brownell's & Midway USA offer replacement buttplates but I'm not sure which one I need to order.

My 81 has a darn recoil pad on it...as far as I can tell it's about 5 in. tall and 1.4 in. wide. Does that sound correct??? I believe that this is the original stock. It has a flat butt and it was made in Oct. of 1940.

If anyone should happen to know where I can get a realbuttplate or if someone happens to have one that they want to sell...please let me know.

I'm also still looking for a rear sight for a Model 8 or Model 81.

Any help/info is much appreciated!!!

Have you taken a look at eBay? I've seen a surprising number of Model 8 & 81 parts on there over the last few months - including a few rear sights, a bunch of stripper clips (which were a godsend for me since I'd lost all of my old ones) stocks and all sorts of things.
