I'm looking for an inexpensive .308 to use as a foul weather/loaner deer rifle to compliment the two rifles I already own. Does anyone have any input on the NEF Survivor? Wish there was a option other than the varmint weight barrel but apparently not on .308 flavor.

TIA

A friend of a friend has one in .17 HMR. From what I hear they are great rifles in any caliber.

i've owned several h&r's all nice rifles for the money. but, i found the survivor stock doesn't do as good a job with recoil as the standard stock. saddlebum

one of the best buy's out there. Plus you can get other bbl's fit to the same frame from the factory.

Get a recoil pad. Otherwise, good rifle. :)

Knew a guy who had one (standard stock) in .243 that with a minor trigger job and a Walmart scope shot MOA at 100 yards.
