Well, he's been initiated. My twelve year old nephew got a nice little 135 lb buck this weekend.
This was youth hunt weekend here in TN. I took him out Saturday morning. We saw a very nice 8 point, but really never got a good shot. Saturday afternoon my brother took him. There is only room for two in the blind. Little bugger missed a doe from less than twenty yards,..bless his little excited heart!
Sunday afternoon bro took him back to the blind. About 5 pm I hear a BOOM! A minute later another BOOM! I get my shoes on and head out the door. He took a shot a bit too far for him (about 150yds) and hit the deer in the spine. He saw it kicking and shot again from about 50 yds, this time hitting just behind the left shoulder.
Sorry I don't have pics, but it was a nice spike. Only had one spike about 8 inches long. May have lost the other when he went down. I have to go back and look.
Anyway, we have a new buck veteran in the family. Now, he's even more pumped to go hunt.
