Trust me when I tell you it is worth the money to either have a smith work that trigger over , or to replace it with something like a timney. I had a timney in a mauser that is , unfortunately, at the bottom of the snake river and it was awesome. I have a rifle basix on a stevens 200 that is great as well. Just a tiny bit of creep then bang! Catches most people completely off guard at 3lbs. Savage accutriggers are ok but just ok. Shoot a good trigger once and you'll fall all over yourself upgrading all of them.
Totally agree. I've set all my bolt guns at 2.5 pounds and my levers at 3. I found no creep to be more important than pull weight within reason.
Plus one on the Timney trigger. They are worth every penny. And are easy to install.

There is definitely something wrong if it takes more than a minute to make an accurate shot at 100 yards. I’d do the dry fire practice and consider a new trigger

idk i never timed it but you know it seems like a damn eternity! lol

the gun shot really good today. i dont think theres anything wrong with the tool or the trigger. its the exact same as my sons 700 in 243....the 243 is just a little less violent.

on the upside we got the 243 sighted in today and the boy hit the bull at 100 yards.
