I just returned from a prairie dog shooting trip and learned something valuable. Here's the detail: I had shoulder surgery 4 months ago so it was really important for me to be sure the rifle was seated firmly in the hollow of my shoulder. So in doing that, I pulled the rifle firmly against my shoulder and squeezed off the shot. In the past I would try to relax and lightly pull the trigger. The other complication is my tremor, which has been a problem all of my life. I learned that I can control the trigger squeeze better now with a firm grip, where it used to work to relax. The result was a higher percentage of hits on prairie dogs and the 3 day shoot snuffed 320 dogs. My rancher host was very happy and I learned a valuable lesson at age 72. Might not work for everyone, but works for me.
