By your implication, I take it one will get scoped while the other remains iron sighted (for now).

If so, I would use my standard criteria. Put the scope (or put the better scope if you are scoping both) on the better performing gun.

Also, don't be afraid to put a scope on a platform that cost less than the scope.

Welcome aboard.

both rifles are new, well i have shot the ruger for about a month now but the win. just came out of the box today and i was wondering what rifle would prob be more accurate .

Generally speaking, bolt guns are usually more accurate. They can afford to have tighter tolerances as the action is processed more slowly.

In this particular case, the stock Win Wildcat (which is the TOZ 78 from the Tula plant in Russia) will likely be the more accurate than the stock 10/22 (by a long shot). I don't have one yet to confirm (have a Varmint/Target on order but they are not out just yet) but the results people have gotten from the Sporter version seems to show this to be the case. Of the few 10/22s I've shot in stock form (most of them mine), they've all had a very hard time consistantly shooting less than 1" at 50 yds, even with higher grade ammo. 1.5" is common though. The Wildcat should be able to go under this easily.

The 10/22, however, can be built up into a real tackdriver with aftermarket parts. This is the Ruger's biggest plus, the ease of being able to work it over.

Thanks for the input im gonna go put about 50 rounds on some paper, just got the new nikon saddled up! Be back later with some input on how good she shot.

hey guys the win wildcat seems to shoot very well and hold very nice groups the only grip i have about the gun is the trigger has a little slop in it .It also looks pretty cool with that big scope on a gun that has a semi short barrel. Thanks for the help it was the better choice.

What rings did you use on the wildcat? I had heard it has an 8.5mm rail instead of either the common 3/8" or European 11mm.

they were millet or somthing like that my dad had them laying around at his house he bought them for his cz 452 i bought him for christmas but the med. were to short for his cz he needed the highs so it will clear the rear site but cant find any at this point but prob get some tomorrow they fit the wildtcat and the cz like a charm!

That reminds me to call "Winchester" about my wildcat. Can't find any rings to fit???? After all this is America, right? I thought all .22's sold in America took 3/8". Shame on FN.
