I bought a Glock 27 this past week, and I was curious about the lack of chamber support that is frequently brought up anytime someone asks about the .40 models and KB's in particular. also over on GT someone posted that the newer .40's now have greatly increased chamber support, so I checked it out last night.

I'm not an expert but it definitely looks to be near-totally supported! it doesn't look any less supported than my USP barrel does, I'll have to take a picture but the thing really does look covered to me. can this alter the unsupported chamber posts? and how do I know when it was manufactured? number begins with LND if that helps.

My police trade-in Gen 3 G23 has very little of the case head that is not supported at the bottom. Maybe a 1/16 of an inch.

I don't notice any bulge in the fired cases and they resize just fine when I reload them.

But none of this will stop the circulating of the half dozen "confirmed" cases of maybe a Glock kaboom. I just shoot my .40 Glock and enjoy it.

The support on the newer guns is supposed to be improved. I still need them to shoot lead, so I went with an aftermarket barrel in my G35.

Dunno. The older guns had only 0.05" (1/20th of an inch) of unsupported brass. That really ain't much.

I've shot over 700 rounds through my G22 so far, and not one problem.
I check out the brass after every range session and I haven't found one yet that was bulged out.

Mine is a generation 3 model, if that makes a difference.

Good luck,
Easyg.
