Well with the day off on Friday I had just planned to make a trip to the local Cabelas with the Mrs and to meet up with an old friend and to catch up a bit and restock on some of the bulk ammo sales. Near the end of our excursion my wife asked me if what gun I might want if for a gift at some point in the future.

I said the CZ and said that the store likely didn't have one since I had yet to find one locally. Well lo and behold they had them in stock and I was able to handle / fondle one and from there, the CZ had no chance of ever going back in the case. It made it home just fine and I hope to get some time tomorrow to check which size grip works best for me and maybe swap out the de-cocker for the safety. Now to find time to get some range time.

Of course on the ride home the Mrs asked if I would take her to the range and teach her how it functions. Now for me that's a pretty damn good day.

Happy Easter all.

Where did you get it? I am in SE PA also, and rarely see CZ's, although I have managed to acquire three over the past 20 years.

While I prefer the steel, or alloy framed CZ's, their polymer is one of the few I would get.

Viking - It came with the de-cocker and a safety option. Looks to be about a 5 minute job to switch it out, it also came with 3 different back strap options and 2 mags.

Pilot - I picked it up at the Cabelas in Hamburg PA. North on 476 / PA Turnpike to Allentown / Lehigh Valley and then West on 22 / 78 to exit 29B. It's about an hour from the Lansdale exit. BTW a new Cabelas will open May 1 in Delaware off 95

Wow, definitely a win/win for you on Friday; a great (and thoughtful), wife and a new CZ! Expect a range report as soon you get a chance. Enjoy your P09 Duty.

Price seemed pretty good, I could have gotten it a little cheaper over the web but with shipping and FFL the overall cost would have been about the same and I was able to take it home the same day which was a big plus. Expected range day in a week or so, review and pictures to follow.

I'm jealous, congrats on the p09 though. I plan on getting a p09 or pcr after my AR build.

Thanks! Yes, I get up to the Cabelas in Hamburg once in a while, and you are correct, they are opening another one May 1, near the Christiana Mall.
