This just came in. I picked it up off another forum. Heinies and reliability work were supposedly done by Jardine. Trigger is sweet. Slide to frame fit is tight as a tick, and very smooth.

I shot 16 rounds off the porch, and it's accurate enough. Cleaned it up, replaced recoil and FP springs and put it in the range bag. Will take it to range tomorrow and see what it can do.

:D :D :D

Badger, I just got a Kimber Custom a few months ago and its out of the box accuracy is unbelievable. In fact, it easily outshoots any 45 I've ever seen in that department. Shoots better than this old dog can hold, frankly.

Only problems I've had were some functioning issues. New Kimbers are so extremely tight that they need lots of oil and frequent cleaning to keep them going until everything wears in.

I'm sure you will be happy with yours.

Ran a hundred assorted rounds throught it today. No hiccups. Shot everything off hand at 10 yards. Kept everything inside 2" with casual blasting, so I'm still pretty happy.

Detail stripped it when I got home. Somebody did some nice beveling around all the pin holes, a nice touch. Maybe reliability work was done by a pro. After cleaning and reassembly, I noticed just a bit of creep in the trigger. The sear, hammer, and disconnector were all original, and their finish was less than impressive. I swapped them out for the set I had removed from my Kimber Compact. Works like a charm now. If I keep the gun, I'll probably drop in a Wilson A2 sear and a good hammer.

So far, it's fun :D
