I just bought a brand new Banner scope, put it on my Ruger American 308. While setting it I noticed the up wasn't ther it was an R. Seemed Bushnell put the wrong one there. The scope is set and has held zero, should I return it or keep it? Has anyone else seen this happen? thanks

Dont have the horizontal turret to the left do you? :p

I havent seen that before, but IF its on and holding zero Id ignore it.

No, the R is on the other one lik it's supposed to be. It's holding just fine, shot several 3 shot groups after finding it and they are the size of a penny at 100 yards. So the scope is good in the regard, just never saw this before, love the scope as it's the one with long eye relief.

Id just roll with it then, sounds like the scopes fine.

So, if you otherwise like the scope I'd just stay with it.

I will share my story of something similar though. I had a Simmons 1-6 I got for super cheap ($90), it was fine and honestly impressive for being a Simmons, haha. When I went to actually zero it, I noticed one windage turret was up/down instead of L/R, so I sent it in. Since Simmons no longer makes that scope and is under Bushnell's umbrella (looks like it was a limited run), they sent me an Bushnell AR Optics 1-6 which is worth quite a bit more AND made in South Korea instead of China like the Simmons. So, worked out pretty well for me. :D

Rare collectors "misprint". Save it for a couple decade and sell it for millions... :neener:.

If that is only thing wrong, the windage label on the elevation turret, as others have said I would probably just roll with it especially given the price point. If it was a $4000 Night-Force or similar I might be bothered more.

I contacted Bushnell this morning, they said that model Banner scope which has 6 inch eye relief had a batch go out with the R on both adjustments recently. They said both adjustment dials are the same size and the scope will be just fine. They said it is still sealed with argon gas and still water and fogproof. They have had several calls on this model and they don't know why it was just this model that is affected but the scope will be just fine. thanks

Bushnell did not do it because they are just a brand, not a manufacturer. Who knows where and in what giant slave factory in China a poor soul mixed up the dials. They may be a body display now. Maybe Bushnell should reinvest in manufacturing things themselves. Or not. I just bought some cheapo Bushnell thing for my PCP air rifle and quite like it though it is no Leopold for sure. I did not notice if the dials were White or Wong!

These are made in South Korea usually. I’ve never had problems with mine and don’t expect wonders at the price point.I guess a typo gets through qc since it’s a totally alien alphabet we use here vs theirs. I couldn’t tell up from left in Hangul, so I can’t really judge there. If it holds zero and adjusts when needed, I think you’re good.

My son is in Korea right now on a work trip. I will have him stop by the factory and tell them to knock if off. Actually I have one of these scopes and I too like it. Its the eye relief that I like about it most.

The Banner line is made in China, I believe. The AR Optics line is Korean made, that's one of the ones I know of off hand, don't know about the others.

I think the only bushnell lines made in China are the trs red dots and the banner line. Even the el cheapo trophy line is made in South Korea.

Minor inconvenience at worst. Someone put the wrong turret on it. FWIW, My Zeiss has both of them labeled U/R. It was done that way on purpose, so it doesn't matter which turret you use for elevation and which for windage when assembling the scope. They are interchangeable.

I sent an M8 to Leupold two years ago and it came back with the turrets mis-labeled like that. Not just Bushnell! haha

That’s an easy fix. I had one the adjustment was backwards. Wasted a lot of ammo before realizing it.

Well, now it is mounted and zeroed and he knows what is going on, just as well keep it.

We had a club pre-hunting season sight in day. One guy could not get on target, he had rolled his scope, reversing the adjustments and kept twisting the Up dial even though it kept moving his POI to the left. Then there was the guy who mounted his scope at 45 deg, so that the crosshairs were "X marks the spot."

I have rifles that I must roll the scope on; a Remington 788 will bounce empties off a right side windage knob back into the action, the .30-30 worse than the .223. I thought my extractor or ejector was bad until I saw what was really happening. So I rolled the scope 90 deg counterclockwise, putting the elevation knob on the left for windage and bringing the windage knob to the top for elevation adjustment.

So does my Zeiss Conquest which was made/assembled by Meopta.
