Sixgun Nut
I've got a couple custom projects up my sleeve for the new year and the latest acquisition is somewhat related. I found this Cimarron Bisley on Gunbroker, which is unfortunately chambered in .357Mag but it also came with factory ivory grips. Which I find out were done by Paul Persinger. I was able to get the sixgun with the extra ivory grips for the cost of the grips alone. Picked it up yesterday and the ivory is spectacular. The sixgun dates to 2007. It has never been fired and the ivory never installed until yesterday. In the wake of the looming ivory ban, I finally got off my butt last year and started procuring some. Nowhere near enough, I've now got two sets on revolvers, one 1911 set and another coming on my JRH .500. Plus an extra set of handgun slabs big enough for a Bisley and a set for a knife I have on order.
A couple weeks ago I decided to order some Eagle UltraIvory for the Schofield and they came in last week. So I snapped a few shots of the two sixguns this afternoon. It's nice stuff but the visible grain is very, very subtle. Difficult to see in photos.
