Just backfrom a gun show and saw CCI's Blazer Brass cased ammo. I didn't buy any but was wondering if it was reloadable.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking since they still called it Blazer. Any idea what makes it cheaper than a regular brass case?

Is there any cost savings in manufacturing ammunition with Berdan priming instead of Boxer priming? Or is it just done to be spiteful?

Here's the deal:

CCI New for 2004!

Blazer Brass Value-priced Ammunition

. Reloadable, boxer-primed brass case
. Attractively priced
. Made in USA

www.natchezss.com has it at a very good price; buy it by the case and you'll save even more.

I was also told by my source at ATK (the parent company of CCI) that the new Blazer Brass will be boxer primed.

The only reason for the AL cases to be berdan primed is because they are not suitable for reloading.

BluesBear,

Does your source have any info on the specs? I haven't been able to find out anything. While Blazer Brass is being sold as reloadable, I have never liked Speer cases for reloading. I suspect that the new brass might be being made by Federal. Maybe Bluesbear's source can confirm that too.
