Reloading Blazer brass

Just getting into the reloading scene. Purchased 1000 pieces of mixed .380 brass from a firing range. I'm finding Blazer brass mixed with the other of course. My question is can this brass be reloaded? I'm almost sure I read it was unsafe to reload blazer brass, but I have not been able to confirm. If this is true, does anyone know why?

If it is truly brass Blazer brass it is perfectly fine for reloading.

Blazer Aluminum "brass" is another story, and is probably what you heard about.

Besides being aluminum, most of it is Berdan primed.

If it's brass, and not aluminum, then it's reloadable.

I've reloaded some 45 acp Blazer brass (not aluminum) I picked up off the range floor 3 times now without any signs of a problem.

alright , i got enough requests for my left over brass and am going to send it out to a few that i have picked as the new owners of it - the ones that i have chosen will hear from me when i have enough for a worthy trip to the post office (im going on a first come , first serve basis with just a bit of seniority curve ?)

If you are re-loading blazer breass or even winchester white box in 9mm , let me know if you want any for free ? I shoot a 9mm taurus and 9mm KT Sub 2000 with several 33 rnd mags at the range quite often , since I dont re-laod myself , I wouldn't mind a bit to grab all my brass back up when im done shooting (about 500 to 1000 rnds per session and 2 to 3 sessions per week?)
just send me a refund for what it costed me send it to you after I get a decent pile saved up worth sending ?? Sometimes when I get in a zone and cant stop myself from shooting after I shoot all the ammo I mentioned above , I buy more ammo from the range - but I think that they sell re-loaded ammom there (not sure if you re-load a previous re-load or not not ?)

if it's Blazer Brass and not aluminum it's good to go,I reload them also usingb the Lee dies with the Factory crimp die no problems chambering in my PPK/S.4.1 grns Unique,3.1 Red Dot.

yep, blazer BRASS= good to go. blazer aluminum will split on the first MILD reloading. been there, done that.

When i first started reloading I'd hear occaosionally people grumbling specifically about brass blazer brass which made me nervous to try it.

Heard it was hard, liked to split, etc.

Honestly, in .45 ACP it's been the easiest and most consistent brass to reload with a perfectly good life span (haven't split any out and I'm at 10+ on all of them)

Blazer is part of CCI which is owned by ATK which also owns Federal, Speer, American Eagle and Independence Ammo. (and maybe a few other I missed) Even though they all sport different headstamps I'm sure much of it has a common source. ATK also runs the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant.

Blazer is good to go. I've got a couple boxes of .45 and on one the headstamp reads Blazer and on the other it reads CCI. Both reload just fine.
