New bullet coating - better than Moly?

Are you talking about boron nitride? I read a little about it while trying to researching moly coated bullets

well considering how bullet coatings are the firearm equivalent to the "Tornado fuel saver"............ It's no surprise someone has developed the next "greatest bullet coating ever"

after I researched moly and getting a box of 100 and shooting them only to get no better accuracy worth paying that much extra for I deceided not to use it. seems like a pain and a waist of money. Ill stick to copper.

Tungsten disulphide (WS2), supposed to be slicker than boron nitride.

I'll stick with my slow old copper bullets.

helz, i may have missed it but i've never heard anyone claim moly was more accurate.

Now you have. I have a couple of rifles that dramatically improve when shooting moly bullets. Moly bullets will allow one to typically shoot more rounds before a notable drop off as well. Add to that the decrease in throat wear and you can see why so may benchresters use coated bullets of some ilk.

yea the reason I even thought about using it is because the old vets at the range who know their sh1t used moly caoted .308 in a savage. they told me it gave the bullet a little less friction and didnt heat the barrel as fast and was a little bit more accurate, why moly = accuracy I dont know. but I do know it reduces heat and when you reduce heat you get more accurate shots before you have copper fouling. the 100 I put though my AR were 55 grain v-max and they did shoot more consistant groups then no moly but after finding out how much of a pain it was to shoot moly through a stainless barrel I deceied not to use them any longer.

This was once marked as Danzac. I researched this several years ago and got a half pound which I have barely touched. It is supposed to be self limiting as to how thick a coating will form whereas moly will keep building up. I found it easier to apply than moly. It has a more silvery appearance.
I cleaned the bolt carriers on my Colt sporters and burnished a coat onto them and it made them very slick and seems to be staying on the carrier. Danzac offered a suspension in alcohol for treating a bore also.
