New Bushmaster

Did some horse trading, wound up with a new (to me) used Bushmaster. Disregard the filthy table, I was loading some 45 Colt (but not for the AR).







Tomorrow's range day. You know what's going to happen to that pumpkin, right?

Two things though.

1: Umm your back up iron site is on backwards! It should be mounted behind the S.I.R. rail and fold down towards the back of the gun. Not sure if you mounted it or the original owner did but you need to fix that.

2: If I could give you some advice. Pull that S.I.R. rail off of there. It is heavy, useless crap that will eventually work lose. And made by a company who is more interested in filing lawsuits than producing good gear or responding to the problems of customers. You can sell it on the EE and replace it with a much better rail system.

What he said. Get a Surefire, or Midwest Industries or a Daniel Defense rail. The ARMS just makes them way to front heavy.

I didn't mount anything, came as is. The rail is an A.R.M.S. #59, the rear sight is an A.R.M.S. #40-L. The front sight is a PRI flip up. The rail doesn't feel too heavy, but I'll look at the others. Feels pretty sturdy. My wife picked it up and commented on how it looked like it should weigh more. I'm going to take it to the range tomorrow and see how it shoots, and then I'll go from there. I've never been a fan of rails, but it's sorta growin' on me.

If I pull the rail off, I'm probably going to put a carry hand in it's place.
