I've been having trouble finding a 22lr revolver that is appropriate for shooting at seven yards. My 6" K22 and 6.5" Single Six are more suitable for longer distances.
I have bought several shorter-barreled 22lr revolvers, and none of them worked well for me. The Ruger LCRx was particularly disappointing.
A month ago I found a brand-new Charter Arms 2" 22lr for $319 plus whatever. Due to weather and health problems I couldn't do anything more than shoot a few hundred rounds of snap caps through it. Finally this morning I got to go to the range.
It's a very nice shooter. The trigger is a standard "feels-like-a-cap-gun" CA trigger. But that's not a bad thing.
It has nice fixed sights. The POI is a bit low and right compared to POA. But other than three "fliers", 50 or 60 rounds all went into a space about the size of my fist.
I already have CA revolvers in 32 H&R, 44 special, and 45acp. All of them have decent triggers. I am very pleased that the 22lr version has such a nice and similar trigger. I am very happy to have such a good-shooting 22lr revolver with a short barrel.
