Bought a new chronograph to replace the last one that got shot. Bought an F1 Master with the remote read out, (the read out is the expensive part), put a steel plate on the front of the unit, (hopefully it won't get tested). When I first set it up, the target was at 10 yards, the chronograph at 5 yards, the same way I set up my first one. First couple of shots 1650fps! I'm pretty good at reloading but..., read the manual, basically it suggests I'm too close, move the chronograph. I move it out right in front of the target, (10 yards), now the read out can't be right in front of me, it's on the ground about 5yards out. The speeds seem about what I expect, occasionally I get another 1600 number, an occasional 1300, (not shooting any +Ps). I notice that when the sun is behind any clouds, that seems to be when all is good. May be the sun is too bright, shining into the eyes? Maybe I might try putting a paper 'hood' over the diffusers? Anyone run into this? I've had two previous F1 chronys, (my son shot the first one, I shot the second, my hole was dead center proving I'm a better shot), both of them registered just fine, an occasional error but never anything like these 1600fps numbers.
