Finally got my detective special. 1963 original finish. Loaded with Buffalo Bore 158gr LSWCHP's. Rock and roll.

That's one NICE looking D.S.

How does it shoot for you? A lot of folks with the old stock grips get a Tyler T-grip to use with them.

I might end up doing that, I'm used to the fat S&W/Taurus grips that give you something to hold on to. These kind cause me to hold the gun at a slightly different angle. I'm not the best DA shooter in the world (1911 guy), shooting SA the gun is dead on. This trigger is the smoothest DA trigger I have felt and definitely helped me put the holes where I wanted them to be. That Buffalo Bore may be standard pressure, but it is hot!

Thanks for all the kind words. Definitely the *nicest* gun I own in terms of vintage and condition.

My Favorite

Nicely done, my friend~! The 2nd series Colt DS (1947-1972) are my favorite
snubbies of all time. As posted here many times, I own 2x 1966 blued models;
and a factory nickel 1971 model; along with an early [late 1972 or very early
1973] model blued Colt Agent; with the latter having the pretty deep blued
finish. I don't dare carry or shoot any of these weapons, as they are strictly
"SAFE QUEENS"; and if I decided too ever carry them, Buffalo Bore ammo is
not an option as its rather HOT~! ;) :D
