Does anyone know if the NEW Colts I am reading about on the forums are making the 38 super light wieght commander yet. I tried thier web sight but its down.
So far the 38 supers in the channel are all 5" 1911s. And they are all limited runs of just a few hundred per month. No lightweights yet.
If you want more details go over to the 1911forum.com and do a search for user name Mark1648. He is a Colt factory rep that has been answering questions for us over there.
As of now, the only production LW Commander is a XSE, and only in .45. THe upper is SS and the lower is anodized to match. It is a good gun, I have one. I would like for them to produce a LW .38Super or a 9x23 in this same package.
