Went to my local gun shop today, and after perusing and checking out a few used revolvers the guy at the shop asks me; " You seen the new Colt yet?" I say, " No but you have one to show me right?!" He says yes and goes in the back and comes out with this beauty. I ask him how much while he's holding it and he lets me know it's sold already, but the guy who bought it doesn't mind if a few of us appreciative types get to see it. So I look it over. Beautiful finish, a trigger to die for, and an amazingly comfortable set of grips. Overall a beautiful, well balanced revolver... But, it had chatter marks on the crown and a scratch on the frame by the rear sight. So not perfect... The guy that bought it is sending it back to Colt thru the shop to remedy the issues. I will do my best to find out what the outcome is for you guys. Even with the issues it is the nicest new gun I have seen in a long time. I may be looking for a Colt of my own in the near future...

What did it sell for?
I believe he said 1500 bucks. Honestly I think it was worth it if they clean up the chatter marks on the crown. The finish is really better than any picture I've seen of one. And the grips! The checkering almost felt soft to the touch, better than any factory grips I've handled. I just hope I'm not permanently spoiled now.
BTW it was a 6" gun.

6” is all I have even seen in videos outside of Colt sponsored content. I hate to say it, but I may be looking for a python soon. I have been a hater through and through with all the smoke and mirrors with the old python but if the new ones are as good as the reviews I’m seeing, them I may jump. The issues I’m hearing of are scary (Hickok’s cylinder index failure) but knowing and understanding what’s going on in there tells me that it’s likely a manufacturing mark or burr causing issues. Clean it thoroughly and shoot the snot out of it.
