just a quick blurb for you folks.

i dropped by the shop today on my way home looking for N320 and i saw someone fondling a CZ. i was like, what the heck, this place never has CZs. so i go look, and holy poop, it's a 75b omega. out of box, it's nicer than the original trigger group. the DA pull, while lawyer friendly heavy, has zero stacking and is grit free. at the break there is actually very little creep and camming, almost like a basic trigger job. the SA pull is again pretty close to a gun that's already had a trigger job done. throw in that it can be manual or decock with a few minutes work... it's pretty sweet. i think it beats all previous out-of-box CZ triggers. with a new hammerspring and recoil spring, it will make an excellent all around gun. i'd pick this one up, but i'm needing the funds elsewhere for a 75 SA in 40.

Hey "G",

Thanx for the mini assessment. I'll make it a point to look for the big "O" on my next CZ. I wish this would become standard fare on all the CZ pistols.

You're gonna like a 75 SA .40, good choice.

problem is affording the 75 SA, lol. i'd have to sell one of my 40B pistols to do it. at this point it's either buy a gun or shoot for a month.... and i would rather not stop shooting. :) but first up, i am planning on selling my 380 to step up to a small slim 9. probably kahr pm9. and you know those aren't cheap. :(

I am picking up my CZ P07 tonight, can,t wait to try out the new trigger, and and the rest of the new CZ .

I just picked up my P-07 this afternoon. Just had a chance to do a quick look-over at the FFL though :( Can't wait to do a thurough check later.

Last time I was in the gun shop buying my ruger 10/22 (love it) the gun salesman was trying his pitch on me with the omega because he saw I was wearing my czechnology T-shirt. I got to mess around with it and really wasn't impressed, essentially all that were improved was a slightly better trigger and a beefed up hammer. Really, if you have a regular cz just throw a nice 15lb mainspring and angus hammer and you got something better than the omega.

dob, i found it much nicer out of box compared to the other CZs out of box that i previously handled. yeah, you can drop a mainspring, cz comp hammer, and shorten the sear leg and have a nicer trigger on the 'classic' group, but the majority of gun buyers are just looking to buy and shoot with zero fiddling. if CZ shipped a model of the 75b with their comp hammer and lighter mainspring and recoil spring, that'd be great, but it's not happening. non-CZ people i've talked to are sometimes turned off by the trigger - it's a $500+ gun now, not a lot of people want to drop another $90 on springs and a hammer. at that price point, they look elsewhere. not everyone is an at-home gunsmith or look to constantly improve their guns. that is why i think the omega is a good winner - it already feels like it's got a trigger job done.... just sans a hammer spring. i hate those lawyer friendly triggers.

Yeah, thats true, point well taken. I guess some people could just buy it as is and shoot it that way for the life of the gun. Too bad they are so pricey now, they used to be known as a best buy in handguns, I bought mine back when they were going for 400$ NIB Back in 06'. When you reach the threshold of 500$+ I personally tend to lean near a Sig or something of that type....although CZ's still come with (2) Mags unlike sig :p
