New CZ 75B Omega

Just scored this at the Medina Gun Show. CZ 75B with the Omega Trigger System. I don't have much info (yet) on the Omega trigger, but I do know it's a simplified version of the standard CZ 75B trigger system. It's the trigger system that is used on the P-07 Duty, and the P-02. On the P-07 and the P-02 you can switch out the safety for a decocker. Not sure if you can do that on the CZ-75B Omega as it is a singled sided saftey, and not ambi like the other two I've mentioned.

Very nice, sir! No, you can't switch the safety parts on the CZ 75B Omega, sorry, but you have an excellent sidearm that will serve well for years.

A post on another forum said the Omegas were part of a contract order for some police or military outfit. They said the contract fell through and CZ released these pistols as consumer units at a reduced price. The date on mine looks to be 08, the date is not stamped into the oval behind the ejection port, rather it is forward on the slide, similar to where they put if on my stainless 75B. I've been aware of these omega 75's for a while, but this is the first one I've seen. I paid $400 out the door. It was used but I would call it 100%. No wear or blemishes on the finish at all.

One odd thing I have noticed is that it seems with the Omega trigger, you can engage the manual safety with the hammer at the half cock position as well as at the full cock position, however not with the hammer fully forward. The standard CZ trigger configuration only allows the safety to engage with the hammer fully cocked. I know the Tanfoglio based CZ 75 clones allow the safety to engage with the hammer either cocked or not cocked.

Is what I'm describing normal for the Omega trigger?

I have posted this question on the CZ forum and have sent an email to CZ support, so I will report back here with what I find out from the other 2 sources.

I really like the 75 with the upswept beavertail much better than the SP-01.
