S&W44, digital cameras are amazing.
There are so many great qualities to them and I have two digitals.
However, I'm almost completely ignorant when it comes to understanding F stops, shutter speeds, etc. and their settings.
The only thing that keeps me from becoming a full blabbering idiot with mine is that both have an auto feature that supoosedly selects the best settings for the conditions being shot.
I can get the gist of most of the features but neither pamphlet, that came with the cameras, adequately explain how and why the various settings are used.
Have fun...they are fun.

It might be worth your while to invest in a general guide to digital photography. I've seen several in book shops in the $9.99 to $19.99 range. Understanding the hows and whys makes it easier to pursue better photography.
How do I know? I didn't understand anything about the hows and whys for quite awhile. I'm still no expert, mind, but knowing a bit helps considerably.
