Thsi show maybe isn't pro-gun..but it's not anti-gun either..On a recent episode a civilian w/ a 1911 kills the bad guy at the end..I was waiting for the preaching to begin....it never did....the last line about the whole thing was the civilian saying"I had to shoot him or he would've killed us all."That was it!Unlike Law and Order that takes every chance to bad mouth guns, gun owners and gun companies.
Then last week they had an episode about a couple on death row...they managed to do the whole show w/ out the usual one LEO who whines about the death penalty....they didn't take a stand either way.(although it was obvious that the guy needed to be fried)..check this show out...it's pretty refreshing.

Being a fan of Mandy Patinkin's work I was happy to see he had a new show. After watching a couple of episodes I can say I am pleasantly surprised by the lack of liberal propaganda one usually finds on modern crime dramas.

Criminal minds and close to home are some of the best television on right now.

And TonyB is right, the death row episode was escecially good.

Another watcher...

It has good actors, good characters, pretty good story lines and plots. Not much political bias one way or another... well, they do chase bad guys, so it may be a little too 'conservative' for some; but probably not anyone here.
"Criminal Minds" is on Wednesday nights on CBS. (Rotten news, good drama.)

I'm also enjoying "NUMB3RS"; about a mathematics professor helping the FBI by doing algorithmic plots of crime patterns. Probably not as realistic as would be nice, but fun and well done. Again, good characters and actors, good stories.

And the original "CSI" is still one of my favorites. Even with the gun goofs they continually commit.

I love this show. My friends and I get together every wednsday to watch it. :) It is on CBS at 9pm on wednesdays...Just before CSI:NY. There was an episode a while back with a sniper and at the begining of the episode one of the FBI people was trying to help another one who was trying to pass his gun proficiency test (I don't remember the acctual name for it) And he went over all the steps from when he put his had on the gun, all the way through to puting it away. He even had a backup revolver in an ankle holster. It was realy a good episode in a realy good show.

I am VERY finicky about what I will waste my time watching and Criminal Minds does make the list as a program that I will watch.:)

It does sound interesting. I've not seen it yet. I've caught the CSI's a couple of times. All of the L&O variations stink.

I'm the same way, it's an excellent show well worth a watch.

Criminal Minds and NUMB3RS are both cool shows.
I too am a fan of Mandy Patinkin's work. Last show I remember seeing him on was Alien Nation where he co-starred as an alien cop with James Caan.

Alleged Motel Burglar Leaves Room Number

"A scatterbrain spending the weekend at a Best Western in Fort Bragg, California, was busted after police suspected him of burglarizing said motel and leaving a note telling where he could be found.

The cops arrested 37-year old Enrique Rodriguez Vasquez, suspecting him of burglary and meth possession after they encountered him at the motel room he had referred to in the note.

The police discovered a satellite TV box, a computer tower, and $200 that had been reported as stolen from the hotel. The value of the appropriated apparatus was estimated to be $1,500.

The scatterbrain’s note, filled with spelling and grammatical errors, scolded the manager of the motel for not being in the office.

In a nutshell, the note stated: “There was no one here to attend us guest in rm427. You even left the office unattended. You could have been burglurized (sic) … Your lucky I didn’t steele (sic).”

Vasquez had a companion, 41-year-old Dana Lynn Jensen, who was oblivious to the theft until after the fact. However, she did confess to owning half of the speed, and there, in her suitcase, were the greenbacks that had been lifted from the motel. Police arrested her, suspecting her of possession of stolen property and of a controlled substance."

Mods please move accordingly..thought you'd get a laugh. :O)

P.S. "Criminal Minds"= Thumbs Up!

I watch very little of the boob tube unless it is the history or discovery channel but I do watch this show- it's very well done with good plots, writers, and actors with none of the subtle or not so subtle political innunedos found in much of TV- plus those two women in the cast are not hard to look at- of course all this means that it will have a short life span and will soon be replaced with another "reality" bomb-

Patinkin is good

He said on the Tonight show a few years back, that whether he liked it or not, his defining role was Inigo Montoya, the Spanish Swordsman in the Princess Bride. I think it was Gwyneth Paltrow's first big part too.

He told Jay Leno that at all his concerts, when he is doing encores, someone always shouts out; "Do Inigo Montoya" and he has to recite the line, complete with phony Spanish accent:

"Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die."

Then the entire audience goes up for grabs.

Maybe he should be for sword control?
