New FN Winchester M70 Scope mounts??

Ok you Winchester Experts:::: I had a customer buy Weaver scope mounts for a M70 Winchester Long action.
Weaver #46 and #47 (same spacing). But he said the rear mount (#47) was to thick and needed a #46. The #46 fixed his problem. Has anyone else run into this? Did FN change the receiver or am I missing something.
This is the first time I have had problems with Winchester M70 mounts.
