I have always shot the Geco made in Germany. It was great, IME. I contacted SGammo and they said they are not going to carry Geco ammunition in the future.

As I look around, now it seems ammo sellers are moving toward stocking the Geco 115 9mm made in America.

Some time ago I asked about this and a few people replied.

I am wondering if anyone else has shot this yet and how it worked for him or her. Sorry to repeat a question so soon, but I am getting ready to order and trying to decide whether to give the American Geco a try or move on to other brands.

Thanks

European ammo has traditionally been loaded hotter than the American brands. Wonder if "made in America" is going to dumb it down?

Just looked at Ammoseek and the German ammo is available $180/1000. Also saw the US made with a lead free "Sintex" primer. Whatever that is. It usually means not better.

The Gunbuyer deal for 115 grain has the same MPN and SKU as the American made sintox stuff, but I will write them.

I wrote LAX Ammunition and asked them where the new stuff was made or who made it for Geco and they said they did not know, which is kind of weird but I guess they have no reason not to say what they know.

The old German made 115 grain 9mm was really great for most of my pistols, and so I am hoping they are not just having Winchester make ammo for them and sticking it in a Geco box. I would try it out but I like to buy by the case and don't want to commit to a full case unless I know it will work, and Geco is not available around my neck of the wood by the box.

Targetsportsusa wrote back and said Geco has its own factory in Florida. If that is the case and the new American made Geco is as good as the European made Geco, that would be great, especially as the American made Geco is selling for a lot less than the old European stuff was selling.

Cheaperthandirt said that the Geco 115 they sold should be European made. I would think all they would need to do is look on the box to check this. Doesn't make me want to buy it if they can't give me a straight answer.
