My boss just gave me a Cobray 410/45lc derringer. It looks pretty cheesy and I am now wondering if it is just for looks or should I shoot it? I see they are very inexpensive and the fact I got it for free has me wondering. I don't really need a broken or worse hand. If I do shoot it what load should I look for in each caliber?

They are OK to shoot, they are just not made to go out and put 100"s of rounds through. And it will sting a little when you shoot it. I would find the lowest power ammo I could find to get used to the little fella. Then you can decide what is best for you.
Not the best choice for SD in my opinion, but may be for someone else.
But hey, your boss gave you a pistol, how many otheres of us on this forum can say that our boss gave us a firearm as a gift?
