These are a pretty plain, but I really like the fit and feel of them. They are full checkered, paper Micarta from Cylinder and Slide.

A little out there: when I went to resize the original photo I noticed it was exactly 1911 pixels wide:)
Anyone else have new grips out there?
Regards,
Greg

These are the standard grips for my GI, but I think they're pretty sweet with the "U.S." and all.

Go to Esmeralda grips; I think you'll like what you see. New ones posted about weekly. I own two sets myself, looking at three, she is well thought of here I think.
Cheers, TF

I would highly recommend Eagle Grips. They mainly do revolvers but I think they do 1911s too. I have a pair of their Buffalo Horn grips for my New Vaquero and they're beautiful (I would put up picks, but this is for 1911s).

Plain old wood on my 1913 1911A and Hogue Wraparounds on my cobbed up 1911A1.

Any fancy ones (like those Micartas!) would be lost on my ugly guns.

My favorite grips on a 1911 are the Kimber rubber panel grips. They're about $20 direct from Kimber. The right amount of "grip" without being too bulky or prone to snagging. Great!

When the cheap plastic "GI" grips on my Norinco M1911 melted and stuck to my hand when I was cleaning it for the first time, I replaced them with Ajax fake ivories. They look good.
