I went to Cabela's yesterday to grab a few hundered rounds of 9mm to go shooting with my brother. While browsing through the used gun section I stumbled upon a Marlin 25N in good condition. Well, since I've been looking at getting a bolt .22 for a while now, I grabbed it. :)

Anyone have any experience with this gun?

Oh sure - I've got an 80's Glenfield 25 older than I am with a matching 4x steel tube scope. It'll print two inch groups at 100 yards with Remington Golden Bullet (my local Walmart puts them on sale cheaper than the Federal) - it would probably do 1.5" if I ever sat down and really tried.

It goes bang every time but the magazines are terrible - lots of feed issues. I've developed a technique where I insert the magazine by applying pressure on the end closest to me... an added benefit: no one can load this rifle but me. ;) I ordered 4 magazines from Marlin and ended up with two that would feed acceptably using my technique. This may just be my rifle, but I've heard lots of complaints regarding Marlin rimfire mags.

It's odd that you say that. I was wondering about the mag issues myself because I noticed that it is VERY VERY similar to the mags that the Mossberg 702 Plinkster uses and I've had some issues with those.
