Just bought a new Winchester 9422 lr and am considering a Weaver 3x9x32 w/A.O. or a Leupold 2x7x28.Anyone have a similar setup? If so any suggestions?.Want to change out the 4x now mounted.

I think the Leupold with the smaller objective bell (not by much)would look better, it's probably even shorter than the 3X9 the AO is not really needed for 22 rimfire ranges, your 9422 is more of a hunting rifle anyway.

What ever your choice, you're going to have a classy looking rig!

Have you hit yourself in the eye yet?

That scope in the picture looks just plain dangerous mounted that far back over the stock!
I know for sure it would be on a caliber that kicked!

You can't go wrong with Leupold. I don't use anything but Leupold for my optic needs, binoculars, spotting scopes, rifle scopes, and range finder. Even the low end product line is really good stuff, plenty of eye relief, 100% water proof, and they hold zero shot after shot. The 3x9x40 Hunter is only about $225 and it won't disappoint you. Even though there is no real need for high powered variable optics on a 22 lr, I have a 3x9 Leupold on one of my 22lr's. It makes for a fun varmit rig on coyotes or any other little fur bearing critters.
And as RH Clark said, they will adjust the parallex to 50 yds. or add anything else you want.

The VX-I 2-7x28mm Rimfire Riflescope is already set at 60 yards.
You don't need to change it.

The VX-II 3-9x33mm Rimfire EFR Riflescope has the objective adjustable from 10 yards to infinity.

Probably don't need that unless you do an awful lot of close range grasshopper hunting or something.

I scoped my .22 lr with a Nikon prostaff fixed 4X. Plenty of magnification for me on a .22 used for target and small game hunting.
