My 80+ year old aunt has two Taurus wheel guns, one being the 4 inch Model 941 which shoots very nicely . ( her bedside gun )
Be advised of two possible issues here :
The rimfire guns require a good deal of hammer bang to be reliable. Couple that with a 8 shot cylinder and the mechanics of the 941 will be such that the double action will be rather stiff. You can not lower this pull to the same levels as you can with larger frame or center fire guns. It will have a heavier DA pull - period .
The second issue is the barrel length . The .22 Mag. has a good deal of muzzle flash and noise in the shorter barrels. Auntie has the 4 inch and that works just fine, the shorter barrel ones will indeed require hearing protection even when out shooting squirrels, or it will ring your ear bells to a degree of discomfort.
With that in mind, the .22 Mag is a nice caliber for small game hunting with a handgun.
