New Homemade Tower Deer Blind

Here's a pic of my blind that I had finished last weekend. Just in time for Deer Season to start here in Up-State NY. The bottom of the windows sit at about 14' above the ground. It's 5'W x 5'L x 6'6"H. It is lined on all sides, ceiling & floor with 1" thk black rubber insulation for sound and for keeping the blind warm with my propane space heater for those cold days. The exterior of the walls are covered with a nylon camo tarp that was attached with spray glue. I ordered this tarp from The Sportsman Guide. This will make the exterior waterproof and saves alot of time of painting the plywood. The windows are 1/4" thk plexi-glass on a drop down slide track.

Hope this helps anyone with ideas if they wish to make their own blind.

i just finished one, but mine's not enclosed, its 4'x8' and sitting on 16 foot 4x4s.

Can't wait to get some use out of it.

Very nice stand, kudos to you. We have a handful of similar stands on our hunting property, and have been using them for about 6-7 years now, and it's hard to imagine how we use to sit out in the open cold like we did all those years before now. I'm sure you'll enjoy that stand. Well done!

Nice work what part of NYS are you in I use a pop up blind for my hunting needs works well even in the sub zero weather, Expecially if i am dressed right for the snowey weather.

Back in 1993 I built a stand that is very similar to your for my father and placed it on my property. Since then we have added 3 more. Mine are all equipt with small wood stoves for heat here in Minnesota on some of those cold days. The first year I hunted was 1972 and my Dad and his family were using stands like this then. I can hardly remember what it is like out in the cold anymore. These stands are great, I can spend all day in mine and be comfortable. I even went as far as installing a homemade urinal with piping that goes down under ground to a little septic tank so to keeps any smells hidden. I would post a picture but I don't have that technology. Besides it they look very much like yours.
