New import M57, things to watch 4

Hello THR,
Posting a quick one here, 2 things to watch for on these new M57 Tokarev pistols I've had 2 one for me and one for my buddy. The extractor pin on both has been damn near impossible to remove but with thoroughly cleaning it has had no extraction problems with PPU and S&B after 500 no clean. The other is the trigger safety, its just like the "safe action trigger" on glocks, it has had clearance issues on the bottom lug wear it uses the magazine release button to block the trigger, I didn't notice when I shot it since I'm not a tip of the finger guy but my buddy is and sure enough it played havok with him. The spring is so heavy it does not overcome the travel needed to clear the mag button I tried removing the pivot pin but it is rounded and captured so just be aware of this, I am going to relieve the bottom since I plan on replacing it later, has anyone replaced the trigger & shoe with a different manufacturers and how well was fitment?

Not I, sorry.

I have 4 of the M57s that I purchased several years ago.

I recall that one of them required a new sear spring. The (well-used) one installed had been turned around ... probably a field-expedient approach to it needing a new spring and the "armourer" having none available.

Haven't had break into there trigger group yet thankfully I'm guessing the hammer spring is the real struggle

No, dis-/re-assembling a tetejka trigger group housing is rather easy once you craft the required tool. I'll try to find some time later today to take pics, upload & explain.

Rather than recreate the wheel with camera and explanation, I dug thru my files and found the original page from which I got the information for fabricating my two TT-specific tools ...

I made my tools out of ~4" lengths of drill rod. Both of them work very well.

re: removal of the pin in the top illustration ... the one that looks like it requires hammer-action

I have multiple TT33s or Variants and none of those pins have required any hammer-action after removing the spring pressure. I always just use a right-size punch to push them out with my left hand while I am removing the spring pressure with my right.

Of course, YMMV ...

What diameter drill rod would you say you use?

To follow up on the trigger group, I found it was much simpler to leave the hammer spring retaining pin alone and just remove the sear pin first then the hammer pin and that was it, during assembly just keep your punch ready to retain the hammer and compress the hammer and spring and line it up the removal of the retaining pin was unnecessary.
