Added a couple of more sets of ivory. The SAA has pre-1972 Walrus Ivory done by MD Grips. The Model 36-1 has pre-ban elephant ivory by Jerry Meacham.

Is walrus ivory more affordable than say elephant?

The vendor I have bought my pre-ban elephant ivory through gets $500 for an SAA. I have seen other vendors charging around $600.

The Walrus Ivory grips for the SAA were $300 - so yes, they were considerably cheaper.

Very nice ivory and with two of my favorite revolvers: Colt SAA and a S&W Model 36 with a 3" barrel! Thanks for sharing.

GREAT SHOW!!! :D When I got this 1917 from 1937 contract, the stocks didn't match of course. I had this pair of vintage Walrus Ivories laying around so I tried them here. Later I added a Tyler I had and the stocks seem to work just fine. A Walrus is one tough beast-- :) I thought about installing pre war medallions, but a poll voted leave them alone, so I did. :)

Picked up this Smith baby Chief Special with a set of J frame combat stocks on it of all things. Later found a set of I frame ivories that work on it. So I figured why not? Seems to work out quite nicely.
