Cool. We used to get longer ones in Malaysia made out of leaf springs, but otherwise very similar. Great for hacking brush and trading with, or gifting to, the Orang Asli in the jungle.
Yes, it is shorter than my kukri in the States and much shorter than my Tramontina machete. Probably almost as heavy as my kukri and much heavier that my machete but the weight makes for a great chopper. Not so sure of the round grip, hoping it will not slip or rotate in my hand. Is sure does chop well. It also reminds me of a Bolo.
