New LC6 trigger from Ruger

Does anyone have any info or experience with the new Ruger trigger?

I also see that the Frontier (their scout rifle) is now offered in .358 Winchester. Tempting, but I want feedback on the new trigger..

I tested some...

I tested several Rugers this week with the new trigger and they all broke clean at around 5 lbs. I really like them and would have no problem going with the new Ruger rifle. Felt a heck of a lot better than the stock Remington triggers.

Any comparison to the new Remington trigger system? Can older 77s be retrofitted with the new trigger like Remmingtons can?

I can't believe it took over 3 years for a reply.

I have a Ruger with the new trigger. It is a definite improvement. They are still not in the same class as a good Remington or Tikka trigger, but not bad.

Little bit of a delay, huh?


Triggers break a little cleaner than the old ones, but still pretty heavy.


VERY easy to work in though, you can get a spring from a guy on feebay and that'll drop the weight down a pound in itself.

Or if your a little more brave you can clip a coil off the existing spring and do the same thing. A little honing/polishing on the sear/trigger will get you to 3lbs. very easy.

Do a search on Ruger Trigger adjustments and you'll find a diagram on the correct angles. I've done three and I'm an amateur gunsmith at best. All three turned out very well, two break just shy of 3lbs consistently and the third about 3 1/2 lbs. Next time I have it apart I'll work in it a little more, but I hardly use that rifle anyways.

I like my new Hawkeye. The trigger feels good to me a little heavy but breaks clean. I prefer a little heavy over light on a hunting rifle for safety. The gun is a beauty and shoots well.

I for one love the new trigger. Its not a bench trigger, but I actually find it better for varmint hunting than a hair trigger.
