New M44

A few pics of my new M44. 1954 Romanian manufacture, wood is pretty lousy, metal pretty good. Barrel is about average, it would appear previous owner didn't understand corrosive ammo. Took it to the range this morning and it shoots well. Burned up the last of the surplus ammo I had and just finished cleaning. I guess I don't plan on modifying this one at all. I'm looking for a barreled action 38 or 91/30 that I won't have to feel guilty about modding

nice, ive got a 1947 russian m44 with a laminated stock and a near mint barrel, as it was brand new unissued when i bought it.

Looks good. Have a number of them myself,from "dogs" to unfired.
Just can't bring myself to shoot the new ones. :banghead:

I wish I could find one of the nicer bores locally, but I'll probably wind up on the auction site
