My New Pistol: Kahr PM9

Hello Everyone,

A few weeks ago I posted a thread asking about compact .45's to fill a spring and summer CCW role. I got a ton of great responses here, which I truely appreciate. So I thought that I had decided on the Glock 36, and took a trip over to my local dealer today to purchase it (birthday is coming really soon, so an early treat.)

Well I always love going to purchase a new firearm, kinda get real giddy about it, ok I might have a problem! :D Went into the shop, and ended up not coming home with the Glock 36......or a .45 either.

I came home with yet another 9mm. Today I purchased a Kahr PM9. The moment I picked it up, it was just screaming to come home with me. It really is a tiny little fella, but really fits well in my medium to large size hand.

A few quick questions:

Is it normal for it to be so tightly fit? I would imagine it will loosen up a bit after I break it in.

Overall opinions on the little guy (PM9)?

I paid 459.00 out the door on the PM9, did I do ok on price?

Any suggestions on a good IWB as well as good pocket holster for the PM9?

I'm hoping to get out to the range tomorrow and give it a little work out. I'm really excited about this pistol. I hope I feel the same way when I get back from the range.

Thanks for your time,

~Michael

You did good on price. Lube it up and shoot a couple of hundred rounds thru it, it will loosen up. As for holsters -Check Rj Hedley for a Pocket holster he makes a great product ,very well made . He also is a member of THR go to his profile there should be a link to his holster website.:)

Congrats!
I have no experience w/ the poly Kahrs, but the steel one Ive shot seemed well made & as you've said, tight. It does start loosening up after some use...maybe a couple hundred rounds or so.

Congratulations! They're great looking pistols. :D

Took the PM9 to the range.

Well I'm going to do a seperate range report post on the PM9. I am very pleased thus far. I took the little fellow to the range and put 240 rounds through it with out a single malfunction. It is already starting to loosen up a little.
