Hello to all fellow Gun Owners! Just signed on even though I've been a ''lurker" before ! I need some info that I've been unable to determine through other internet research. A friend brought to me today a well used Win. model 74. He just acquired it and wants it cleaned. I'm trying to determine its date of birth.
the list i find on ''proofhouse'' does not seem to include sn 30660 and is confusing to me at best. Another site says "sn not included in our database"

Does anyone have any other suggestions or help. Thanks,Joel
 
Everything I could find has serial numbers starting with 30890 in 1939. I would re-verify your serial number. Could be something special though but thats what I was able to come up with for the model 74.
 
Not a '94 it is model 74 with a s/n of 30660. I cannot find any info on a s/n that low.

According to the info I have the Model 74 started with serial number 30890

I don't know ? The guns were made starting in 1940
 
Madis says they started with 1 in 1939 and made 30890 that year. They didn't start with 30890.
