Hi, I just joined the site. I just ordered a Sig Sauer P229 .40 cal last Friday and can't wait to get to the range with it. I plan on learning a lot from this site as I plan on building a good Ar-15 this year..

I just bought a 229 two weeks ago but haven't had it out yet. Hope to maybe tomorrow.

I'm already thinking I need a second 229 to just shine on...I'd also like to acquire a 220 for plinking and HD.

P229 9mm

I have a P229 SAS 9mm and it's great! It shoots so smoothly. I love shooting it and want to use it to get my concealed handgun license when I take that class soon.

I'm learning to shoot my P220 .45 cal as well. I'm not as good with this one as I am with the 229.

my sig 229 is the most accurate pistol i have owned, i freaking love it! im now a sig fanatic

I've carried a 229 DAK in .40 for about 6 years. It has been a great gun, you should be very happy with it.

Just returned from their Classic Armorer's school, and we handled these quite a bit.

Excellent choice, you will be pleased or SiG will make it right.

I started with a P229 in .22LR. A GREAT way to get used to the gun and fire LOTS of rounds through it. Converting to 9mm, .40, or .357Sig is as quick as changing the slide and popping in the new mag.... Takes less than ten seconds.

Awesome gun ... but too big for me to comfortably carry.

I own a P229 and have heard from many others who own them. A very highly thought of firearm. And one of my favorites.

I've carried the 228 and now the 229 , on duty and off for more than 10 years . neither one has let me down, and I'm thinking your experience will mirror mine . SIG knows how to build them.

3 40's, 2 (the twins) Sig P229's and Beretta Px4 40/G

Hi, I just joined the site. I just ordered a Sig Sauer P229 .40 cal last Friday and can't wait to get to the range with it.
...

Set up right they deliver a balanced, soft, back on target w/accuracy performance..

Having 2 P229nr/40's I've found for fun shooting, ranges greater than 25ft, I like the 165gr FMJ but for SD/HD loads and softer recoil, I've gone with 180gr JHP's for 5yrs with no regrets, none, actually the_luv keeps growing per range session..

Below pics of both P229/40's with Px4 40/G

Hogue rubber side-panel only grips offer consistent grip with both mine

Enjoy

In the spirit of full disclosure I confess to being a diehard SIG fan, but I think the P229 is one of the best shooting platforms for the .40 S&W round. Congratulations! You made an excellent choice.
